"The 1962 Cossart Gordon Bual was bottled in 2015 and constitutes a run of 1,104 bottles. It has a slightly lighter color than I was expecting, though the aromatics do not disappoint, understated at the beginning with dried fig, cardamom, mandarin and subtle hazelnut scents. The palate is very refined, imbued with an almost sorbet-like freshness on the entry, harmonious and refined with just the right amount of acidity (ten grams per liter) threaded through the orange, caramelized pear and smoked walnut aromas. There is great length here and a long, persistent finish that seals the deal. This is another superb release from the Blandy family - one for those who prefer their Madeira more nuanced in style."
